Hi,
I usually write too much, but I'll just cut to the chase.
I'm an 18 year old male who wants to get a nose-job. I've always been teased, and it has reached a point where this issue (big nose) became suicidal. I'm willing to risk the operation (rhinoplasty) because there's less of a stigma surrounding the operation and more pressure to look "normal".
Well, I don't really want my friends to find out (or anyone for that matter, except for my family members), I guess I would be equally depressed if I was the butt of everyone's jokes even after the surgery if they're gonna point and laugh, since this is mainly a female thing. But hey, guys are judged by their looks too. I thought about this many times and I know that I want to go through it.
My questions..
1- What are the risks of failure? Now that I've convinced myself to take a step and do this surgery, it's as if 95% of the posts I read from people who did this aren't satisfied with the resultes. I'm not picky, I don't think my nose can get any worse; it's long, has a wide bridge, bulby tip, a little crocked to the left, large hump. ALL THE SYMPTOMS OF AN UGLY NOSE.
2- Now I said I didn't want people to find out, well I'm starting college out of state (in January - sping semester), and I will probably stay in that state, so I was thinking about getting this surgery done, and then going there. I want a fresh start and I want to live college years with confidence. If I don't do it now, I won't do it during college and I'll be depressed.
So the second question is, how long does it take to fully recover? I mean, I'll have to be out of here by December, and I would like to know if 2 months is enough time for recovery and check-ups?
If you have any personal questions, or anything you'd like to tell me in private, I'll be happy to write back. Just e-mail me at: dragonknight137@yahoo.com
I hope to get some replies :-)
