I'm new to this board. In fact, I'm new to this whole cosmetic surgery deal. I had a chin implant with submental lipectomy 9 days ago. I love the implant, and I am healing nicely. My concern is the hardness and lumpiness under my chin from the lipectomy. I am 40 years old, and I didn't have alot of fat under my chin, just not alot of definition. My dr has instructed me to use heat, massage, and ibuprofen. He says this is normal, but I am beginning to get worried. Like I said, this is all new to me. Does anyone have any info that would help me??
Thanks in advance,
Renee

Dear Renee,
What you're describing does sound completely normal after liposuction (lipectomy). It is common to have hardness and lumpiness.

Your doctor's recommendation for heat, massage, and anti-inflammatories will help to resolve the issues, but your body will take care of the lumps over time, even if you do nothing.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
Danya:)

I had the same lumps and bumps after chin lipo. It took 4 weeks to go away. Hang in there!

hi karenrenee,
i've been following the posts on this message board and decided to finally post some messages myself.
i was wondering how you're doing. are you getting better?
what if the bumps dont go away? would you still have chin liposuction again, knowing what you're going through now? i'm so scared that something bad will happen to me if i do anything to my face...
