Reply from Dr. Kent:
We specialize exclusively in this procedure the Lifestyle Lift. Our medical group has performed nearly 6,000 of these cases without any major complications like facial nerve injuries or severe infections. We have never put anyone to sleep for the procedure thus that risk is avoided as well. We ONLY perform this one procedure and blepharoplasty in our offices “we wrote the book on it”. I have trained countless other surgeons on the technique.

It really bothers me when other physicians and people claiming to be patients (often people who work for other doctors) bad mouth the procedure on these message boards. Many of these surgeons are not happy performing a $3,000 range procedure and would rather put people through extensive distorting radical facelifts, which by the way I do not believe in. For example, I could remove your gall bladder through a large abdominal incision requiring long term in-hospital recovery or I could do it through a small puncture and scope and you could leave in less then a day. Well, when I was in my ENT Facial Plastic Surgery residency there were two camps the older docs and the younger. If I was only trained and familiar with the old way I would lead you to have it that way. But in the long run the right way wins, and in this case, most everyone has there gall bladder removed through a small scope!

Likewise face lifts can be done in an extreme fashion or a much simpler way. Most people in there 40s, 50,s and early 60s do not have wrinkles so much, but mainly drooping of underlying tissues creating deep creases, folds, jowls, frown lines and loose neck skin. Through a much smaller hairline incision, about 2 inches of skin can be lifted off the underlying muscles (SMAS) and the SMAS can be tacked up with permanent sutures. The skin can then be trimmed and closed with a plastic closure. Just as in the old traditional radical facelift the SMAS is elevated back into its youthful position but in ours it is done through a much smaller incision and without peeling off a radical amount of skin. With the old extreme way the skin is placed back down with suction drains and pressure dressings for days or weeks and when finally healed it never looks the same. That is why so many people look pulled and stretched from the old way.

The old extreme lift still has a place for people who are very wrinkled. The peeling off of the skin helps resolve the deep wrinkles. Keep in mind if your under 60 to 65 you probably do not have deep wrinkles and the old way will probably provide nothing more for you except increased risk of nerve injury, anesthesia problems and having an unnatural pulled look!

Furthermore comments I have read are not true that this procedure is not lasting because with the Lifestyle Lift the underlying muscles and connective tissue (SMAS) are tacked up in 3 points or more with non-dissolvable suture! How does that fall down??

Due to the economic nature of medicine today many physicians are performing plastic surgery without ever having a AMA or AOA recognized residency in ENT/Facial Plastic Surgery, General Plastic Surgery or an Oculoplastic Surgery residency. Many of the physicians who post to sites like this one are cosmetic surgeons. Cosmetic surgeons is NOT recognized by the AMA as a specialty! It is a way for Dermatologists (skin doctors), OBGYNs, General Surgeons, Vascular Surgeons and the like to let the public know they perform cosmetic plastic surgery. A “certificate” in cosmetic surgery can be obtained by attending a weekend course in facelifts, liposuction or breast augmentation. BE CAREFULL. Always ask as it is very deceiving out there. There are no laws in the United States governing the specific type of surgery a physician can perform. Any physician can perform any surgery they want to. What they can not do is lie about there credentials. My personal recommendation is to go to a plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon for facial surgery.

Dr Kent, I am very interested in the LSL. My question is, do you also do liposuction under the chin and if so what is the additional coat if any? Why have I read over and over that this will only last a year. Thats what scares me. I can't imagine going through this in another year. I like the fact of not being put to sleep and no pulled back look. Thank you.

Dr. Kent,

I am considering the LSL from one of "your" trained doctors in Dallas. I have ust recently had restylane done on thefolds of my nose and lips. How long should I wait before considering having my neck done..it is not bad, yet, since I have just in the last few days had the restylane done?

Thanks,

suz

I am still trying to get information on the doctor in the Dallas area. On the LSL web site this doctor's bio does not open....I'm a little skeptical...also the first time I looked at the site the doctor in the Dallas area was a doctor that is now listed as in Florida...hummmm
Any answers?

Also I am still wondering how long I should wait IF I do decide to do this since, I just had restylane done last week.

The answer posted from Dr. Kent seems like an auto answer given to any question posed about LSL...it doesn't answer direct questions.

Dr. Kent,

I had a lifestyle lift in Mi 2/4/05. The lift does not seem to be holding up, there is a definite loosening up and looks like I have more sagging going on. There also seems to be puckering around the mouth . I wanted to know if everything will keep going south and if I will be back to square one. I was told that as I heal, I would loosen up and the it would retighten, which can take up to 6 months.Does this sound right,I hope I didn't go thru this for nothing. Also, is there a true tightening of the muscle and tissue layers, and what is the average time this lasts. I wonder if I should see my Dr again. Please advise.
Thanks

Dr. Kent, I am not an imposter, you can check with Dr. Stoller's files and see that I had the lift on April 4, 2005. I am post-op 2 weeks...still have my fatty chin pad that was lipo'ed and my jowls. the swelling and the reduction of swelling made little difference in my sagging skin condition. Yes, I know I am supposed to give it "time", but maybe you can explain to me how the skin will miraculously suck up and be tight after 2 weeks or more? I will be glad to show you MY before and after photos (at least I know mine are not touched up!) My instincts told me to go with the other surgeon in the Philly office, but they were so unprofessionally unorganized with their scheduling books that I ended up getting re-schuled twice and surgeons were switched. OH! And did I tell you the tech that removed the stitches around my ears "FORGOT" the ones under my chin?? (we discussed my lipo, so she knew I had them) I ended up taking them out yesterday myself since the office is too far to run to AGAIN because of another blunder on their part.
So sorry I really have no positive experiences about this office and procedure to post...I sure wish I did!!!

Blondiegirl is a newly signed up poster who is the same person as another poster, slamming this surgery, That is why she is digging up all these old posts.

Use common sense and find other forums with a larger amount of posters and get some better answers than these!

You will see more of the old posts on here she dug up to stir up more discord.

So this is how new posters are treated here? Is there some protocol for posting up to your standards alone?

Back off. You're the one making trouble

Yes you see this is the whole point, create distrust and divide. Put everyone on opposing sides and then we don't support each other like we should. Good diversion tactic. Nice job I hope you are being paid well for this selling job:rolleyes:

Who is BC? Are you talking to ME? Whatever, I have gone back through the posts you have been allowed to do on this board. I say ALLOWED because what you and Turk there run off anyone who you think is messing up your"sweet deal" over here on this board. LMAO!!!! You gotta be kidding me!

I saw how you ran poor Alibaby through the wringer because she dared to post about HER LSL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You even used the same tactics! Man oh Man I hope that the ones reading this board have a clue what is going on here. Whata load of propaganda. Heck you(whoever you are, doctor's wife? girlfriend? mistress?) got the slings and barbs down pat eh?

Would I tell my story here ?? Doubtful, because you(Joann1(minus 1?) Gayla, Turk, countless other names, you will have some smart alec remark to put me down. They won't allow you on the Yestheyrefake board anymore will they? The women there are too smart and savvy for the likes of YOU!

The MMH board is sick to death of you too. I love how you butter everyone ELSE up with sweetness and light, and then cut anyone who says a thing about their own experience to RIBBONS!!!

SO tell me, why is this ONE procedure the one that is protected by you gate keepers?? Email me Joann I'll write you back I promise.

May 16th, 2006, 08:05 AM
Bye bye Joann1 I wont bite. I had that it done. Go irritate someone else. You are like a pebble in my shoe. Only not as significant.

This is the internet Joannie my girl! Anyone can post pics as their own, any one can pose as surgical patients yet be sitting at the doctor's office reception desk right at this very moment like I suspect YOU ARE.

So what does posting pics or words prove??

How many times can you register new names and post your glowing reports??

the amount is endless I suppose, because this is the internet and it is not policed.

So go stick that in your ear,(and Im being nice about it, trust me)

Bgirl

Hi, Im with you ! Yes I am REAL PERSON,who had a terrible experience with LSL and they attacked me the same way ,as they are you.
the truth is I believe ,that LSL pays these [pretender/defenders] to go from site to site defending this company.
Then if you Dare! have had a terrible experience like so many on here , including myself ,and try to find someone to talk with about it ,they attack you,and accuse you of what they are doing themselves!
Either that or it is the great Dr himself, defending his empire, at our expense.!
Yes I expect Joa1 And that TurD to bash me ,yet again ! but Ive already BEEN THROUGH IT ,and they didnt scare me then and they wont now .
Anyone wanting to know what I went through can read on this post or PM me, I am not afraid of these [pretender/defenders] !
I know what I went through , and there are NO RESULTS to boast about and it was LIVING HELL !!!

God Bless .....ali

Did you check out the Drs. bio's on the main site, who practice at that location? Maybe you could get an idea what you think based on that, until someone may come along familiar with that location. :)
