This is the best forum

They only want you to go there so you can use their surgeons and they get your money. I post the real unsung heroes of the industry wherever I can. Commercial services are not to be trusted, everyone has bad stories about them.

I wanted plastic surgery (breasts and tummy tuck) and I didnīt have enough money to spend in the US, so like many others I looked to go abroad. Even though my story is about plastic surgery the advice is good for anyone who is investigating dermatology treatments, especially PMMA and fillers etc because friends of mine have since had these treatments and it all turned out great.

I though had the most terrible experience and I almost died.I was effectively rescued by a osmetic surgery Foundation who exist to help people like me who have been given bad advice or who end up being taken advantage of. They help people find the right surgeon and they helped me so much. I will not say the medical tourist company who were such charlatans as it is probably libel but beware of people that advertise on the internet. They just want your money and over simplify the consultation so you just do not know what to trust and who to trust. If you want information then use this charity at least their motives are not to rip us off and disfigure us.

My mum just had a full SMAS facelift with the surgeon they recommended and she looks so amazing.I think these people are the unsung heroes of the industry basically, their website is

http://www.aestheticargentina.org

They donīt ask for any money, ever. They work tirelessly as volunteers - they did save me a fortune on the surgeries I had afterward to fixed the bad ones - with the money I saved I gave like $100 to their charity, which was not much compared to what I saved - they are just super knowledgable and superkind - I recommend you go to them first for independent advice if you are thinking of going abroad for a surgery like I did and now my mum has done. Also I have a friend who didnīt even use the surgeons they recommended but they helped her do research to make sure she was making the right decision on a surgeon in Thailand so I would say to anyone to ask them first, they were unbelievably great to my family ( and 2 gay friends who had PMMA in Brazil)

Thanks so much

You've got to be KIDDING me.

Click onto 'cosmetic surgery' and you will find the advertiser on top is LIFESTYLE LIFT

Next one is drssayyes.com, a website offering FINANCING . Domain name is owned by mychoicemedical.com who's parent company is VERTRUE. VERTRUE is being sued by attorney general in Iowa for CONSUMER FRAUD.

Other clicks show another association of MyChoiceMedical which is lookmybest.com
In fact there a even more advertisers on that site that look tied into the MyChoiceMedical network

Some of the scemes/scams the parent company is up for have to do with consumers giving their CREDIT INFORMATION to one company and then getting mysterious charges on their credit cards by other companies (with different names) they did NOT give their credit information to. Just google; 'Vertrue and CONSUMER FRAUD' if you want to find a bunch of links. Keep in mind that VERTRUE is the parent company of MyChoiceMedical who owns the drssayyes.com financing site domain name.

Mychoicemedical is the entity that took over the 'YTF message boards. 'YTF boards' used to be the best BEFORE that corporate take over. .

I write about that sort of thing on my private blog: http://ytffacialplasticsurgery.blogspot.com/

Nothing necessarily wrong with that. Just because your are P.O'ed at YTF message board and left, you shouldn't trash them everywhere you go, should you?

Message boards are bought and sold every day, and they all have advertisers, that's how they are ran, generally speaking.

And just why can't LSL advertise?? There are other advertisers on there! They have a right just the same as the others! This site has them, they ALL do!

turquoise,

Anyone who would post a link to that 'forum' is either very naive not to realize that it's just a bunch of paid advertisements or someone with financial incentive to lead you to it.

Patients should take into consideration; you consider the act of my pointing out that the entity who took over the YTF boards parent company is up for CONSUMER FRAUD, as "trashing" them.

They should also take into consideration that you would be the type who would want to WITHHOLD from them that kind of information. I have no doubt that you would be the type to actually be SUPPORTIVE of a corporate medical entity who's parent company is up for consumer fraud and would gleefully encourage patients to take part in that kind of venue.

No one said LSL 'can't' advertise. I just pointed out WHO the prominent advertisers were.

I don't think you get it. The boards that people refer to as the 'YTF boards' are NOT the same as they used to be.

I don't even LIKE to call them the 'YTF boards'. Reason being that when the OWNERSHIP of them was SAME as NAME; 'YTF' they, in my opinion were the best boards on the net.

The main problem in what to call them is that they are now the MyChoiceMedical (subsidiary of Vertrue) message boards and THAT'S what they should be called. BUT that particular corporate entity chooses not to inform readers of the ownership in a prominent place.

The message boards I used to contribute to have been taken over; sold out to MyChoiceMedical who's parent company is VERTRUE. Readers can come to their own conclusions as to whether or not a message board with a parent company up for CONSUMER FRAUD is going to differ from one that does not or did not prior share those associations.

They can also come to their own conclusions regarding those who would like to SUPPRESS that kind of information from them.

Blondie,

They don't take after pics? Yet they tell the patients the lift 'lasts for many years'???

All I can say is that a doctor is not in the capacity to inform patients how long a face lift lasts or how good it is, if they don't actually observe the results over time.

. I asked them...when do you take after pics? They said oh we DONT. You do I guess? Nice..I said when do I see the doctor again I only saw her the one time,,when I had surgery.

They said You dont, this is it.

Are we having fun yet?? I want my MONEY BACK:mad:

Can't really speak for why LSL takes before shots but when the plastic surgeons take them, it's usually to chart out the direction of soft tissue displacement to be done in the surgery and also to juxtipose them with a post op pic later down the line.

Plastic surgery reference manuals for the PSs usually have a chapter of why to take before and after. One of the reasons is that sometimes patients 'forget' what they looked like and don't see any difference. The photo before/after sets, in that circumstance are used to show the patient there was indeed a difference made.

The manuals for the plastic surgeons also tell them that without proper observation, they can neither learn to improve nor are in capacity to inform patients how long something lasts or how good it is.
