About 8 months ago I had browlift surgery and was not very happy with the results. After the swelling had subsided there was only a slight change, and it looked liked I needed another browlift procedure. My problem now is that the right side of my brow is starting to droop which makes my face look like there is a bump on it when the light hits from the side. I looked in the photo gallery under browlift and wished mine had turned out like that. I really do not want to go through another browlift procedure, is there anything that can be done!!!!

Hi
What did your PS say about the out
come of your sugery? Does he suggest
a revision?

for a temporary fix, Botox may help.
you can either use it on the forehead to lower the higher side, or under the brow to raise the lower side. this should only be done by an experienced injector due to the risk of eyelid drooping when injecting botox close to the eyelid.
otherwise, you may need a surgical revision if the asymmetry is very obvious or bothersome.

I no longer go to that PS because he lied to me. When I first went to him, I initially wanted an eyelift. He told me that I wasn't a candidate for that procedure because I didn't have enough skin to remove. He suggested a browlift. When I voiced my complaint that I wasn't happy with the browlift, he then suggested he could now do an eyelift for an additional $1,800. I left his office and had the eyelift procedure with another PS. For all the money I spent -- $4,700 total -- I should be very happy, but I still look like I need the procedures. I go to my PS, who performed the eyelift, on December 11th. I will ask him what the next step is.

wow, i'm sorry that after 2 surgeries, you still dont have the results you were hoping for. that is odd that the 1st surgeon told you that you didn't have enough skin for eyelid surgery, and then after raising your brows (which should result in even less excess eyelid skin) that he would then suggest eyelid surgery!

i wouldn't be surprised if elevating your brows a little more now would give you the desired result. let us know what your ps says, okay?

okay, let me get this straight.
8 mos ago, you had a browlift, right? your doctor had told you that you dont have enough skin for upper eyleid surgery,so he did a browlift?

your brows dropped after surgery, right more than left. your ps said that now you needed eyelid surgery to remove excess skin (which he originally said you didn't have). you saw someone else who did the eyelid surgery.

but now your brows are still low and asymmetric, and now the 2nd ps says you need an open browlift?

how old are you? what type of browlift did you have originally? did your ps remove eyelid skin in your second surgery?

am i understanding this correctly? why did ps#2 take out eyelid skin when you just need a browlift revision? or, why didn't he do the browlift revision when he took out extra eyelid skin? didn't you go to him because your brows were uneven? did he think taking out skin would even out your brows? am i missing something?

After the first PS told me he could now do the eyelift, I didn't trust him anymore and sought out PS#2 for the eyelift. I thought having an eyelift might solve the problem but it didn't. When I first went to PS#2 to inquire about the eyelift he didn't think, at that time, I needed the revision. When I went back to PS#2 after the eyelift procedure (2 months later) I told him that I still wasn't happy and he suggested an open browlift. The first browlift was incisions on each side of the head. Since that didn't produce results, PS#2 said an open browlift would definately work for me since I have such heavy eyebrows.

I guess what I need to know is has anyone done a browlift revision and had successful results? Or am I just a hopeless case!

I had numbness in the beginning and wasn't able to move my left eyebrow but everything is fine now. You were lucky that your PS did a revision and fixed your problem. My PS was a complete jerk. I am considering having a revision with another surgeon but will have to wait. I have another problem I have to take care of first. It seems I have a deviated septum that is starting to close up one side of my nostril. I went to a nose, ear and throat surgeon and I am scheduled for a Septoplasty in January.

My question to Dayna: the procedure involves fixing the inside of the nose so I can breathe better, with no outside change of appearance. How long would one have to wait before it would be safe to get a browlift revision? Since the two are not connected, could the revision possibly interfere somehow with changing the shape of my nose? I am 41 years old.

the septoplasty should have no effect on your browlift revision.

but, do be careful having a second browlift after having eyelid skin removed as you may not now actually have enough skin now to allow your eyelids to close if your brows are raised further.

to test this, you should hold up your brows with your fingers and close your eyes. have someone else look at your eyes when you close them to see if they close all the way when your brows are raised to the position that you want them to be in. if not, then you shouldn't have the browlift again because your eyes will dry out at night and be more prone to dryness, itching, scratches and infection.
