About 80 percent of us suffer from scalp problems caused by stress and environmental factors, according to a survey by L'Oreal Paris. Yet, many do not know how to take care of it.
"Cold weather dries the scalp where the root of the hair lies. So in order to have healthy hair you first need healthy scalp, which has been largely neglected until recently," said Choi Seo-yeon, account executive of Wella, which recently introduced Biotouch, a range of treatment products for scalp and hair.
Ideally, scalp should be milk-white, have proper amount of oil and nutrients and not have dead cells. But according to the research done by Procter & Gamble, the makers of Head & Shoulders, dandruff and related symptoms such as itchy or dry scalp are quite common symptoms experienced by as much as 50 percent of the world's population.
