I have been to a Dr who said because of a previous scar from gall bladder surgery I would need a fleur de lis tummy tuck. I can't find any info about this on line and was wondering if any one had information on this. Thanks for the help.

A fleur de lis tummy tuck involves an extended incision down the center of the abdomen and across the lower abdomen, near the bikini line.It is commonly used if you have large amounts of excess skin to remove, and also require additional work in the upper half of the abdomen.
It gets it's name from the shape of the pattern drawn on your skin to denote where the incisions will be.
People with previous gall bladder surgery using an open approach and therefore a large incision (compared to the now common endoscopic gall bladder surgery) usually have a compromised blood flow due the previous surgery.

Not everyone with previous gall bladder surgery requires the extensive incisions from a fleur-de-lis, but it sounds like you might be one of them...

I had a gastric bypass surgery done 11 years ago when they were still only doing open ones. Thus I have any scar from my breast bone down to my pubic area that is about 1/2" wide. There is a bulge above the belly button, then my waist goes in, then the bluge under the belly button. Of course I still have the large hips and love handles.

I have gone to two surgeons so far. One recommended the Fleur de Lis because of the excess skin and fat above the belly button. The other doctor recommended an extended tummy tuck (even though I mentioned the Fleur de Lis), this would also supposedly help with the hips and help with body contouring. I am planning on getting a breast lift at the same time. Which they said the same thing, so that is not a deciding factor.
What is the best course? There is very little information on the Fleur de lis and how it compares with the extended. (I have also had 2 pregnancies with a set of full term twins, so there is no ab muscles left in my opinion.)

Any assistance would be a god send??

Thank you,
