For those of you considering having this procedure done, I implore you, think twice before doing so.I had my upper eyelids done approx two years ago, and have regretted it every since.Have come to find that I am now unable to sleep at nights.I have not had ONE dream since having this surgery.Evidently this surgery can affect your " R.E.M "..~ Rapid eye movement ~ thereby hindering ones ability to sleep. And if this should happen to you, you will come to find that the so called experts in this field will shun you when you seek out their expertise ~ though they grab the consultation fees with glee ~ by refering you on to yet another 'expert' only to be yet referred again,...and again,,and again.

I am 39 years of age,,and my life is over due to this procedure. DON'T DO IT!!! You will regret it. My case was not botched, I am still as handsome as ever <:)>..but seriously,,it will destroy your life.In hindsight I now understand how the eyes work, in their natural position they are closed, upon waking up we open them, after having this surgery performed, you will come to find that your eyes now operate in the opposite, after the surgery when all is healed,,,it's as if the eyes are always open, and it takes a conscious effort to close them, hence sleeping becomes an impossibility, the eyes no longer have the ability to gently flutter into the R.E.M state of restfull bliss.

Again say I,...think twice before having this done, these sights are here for one thing,,and that is to sell these needless procedures to us,,the masses, its all about the money with them..nothing more.I fell for it, and am paying the price..but to those that are reading this,,,you still have a chance. signed dreamless, dtb.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you but thank you for sharing your experience. I never knew any of that info and I am sure it will help a lot of people. I recently had a tummy tuck and this plastic surgery stuff is not what it's hyped up to be. There are so many problems that can come up, some of which I am experiencing now. My Dr. mentioned that maybe I would like to consider an eyelift at some time in the future. Actually, my eyes look perfectly fine and I don't know why he would say that. It made me lose some respect and trust in him because it made me realize, as you stated, that it's all about money. He wants to keep me returning for one procedure or another.
Best of luck to you, and don't give up...

Thanks Shanyn, thanks for the concern. And I too am sorry to hear of your tale of woe ~ :)..though,,,though to be honest with you,,,I would trade your condition for mine in a second, at least you can hide yours :P:P,,,what I would'nt give for just ONE night of sleep...Sleep use to come soooooooooo,,,so very easy for me,.:(..I miss that!!! Anyway...the favorite part of your reply for me was wherein you pointed out that your doctor suggested you might consider having eyelid surgery ~ what a schmuck for saying that ~...my eyes like yours were fine just the way they were,,,but at least now I know that at the very least I saved one person ~ you ~..from making the same mistake I had. hmmm,.well not much more to add here, ..umm..~ just read your other post ~ so as such..here is wishing you good luck with the...umm.."dog ears" ..could be worse though, right,,,as in...as in rabbit ears :P:P:P...~ smile~..ttyl,dtb
