I am going for a consultation on Monday for
liposuction and a breast enlargmenet. But, I
was wondering if any of the active women who
got surgery could tell me how long it was until
they were back to full force exercising? I am
extrememly active, exercising 7 days a week and
playing in an adult soccer league. Any information
would be extrememly helpful!

your surgeon will probably tell you 6 weeks before all out exercising, but you can do light exercise at 2 to 4 weeks, depending on your healing and your surgeon's instructions.
although you might be tempted, doing too much too soon can cause problems with bleeding, implant shifting, or prolonged swelling that can take months to resolve.
if you're going to have a breast aug and lipo, you'll want to be sure to protect your investment by following your docs postop instructions, and then once you get the "go ahead" you can show off your new body in all your physical activities.

Rose,
I am pretty active myself. I had breast augmentation on a Monday and Liposuction on Wednesday of the same week and I was walking 5 miles the same day of surgery. I was back running and in the gym in 1 1/2 weeks following surgery. I was very careful not to do more than I could tolerate and did not work out or run with the same intensity as before. After 1 month however, I began my regular workout routine.
I healed really fast and I think it was due to the fact that I remained active. I noticed my results from lipo almost instantly. I took tylenol for the first couple of days to reduce my pain.
Please remember that this was my experience and I would suggest that you do whatever you are comfortable with and whatever your doctor advises.
Good luck to you,
Cathy

How did your consultations go?
In regards to exercise, it is very important to remember to always listen to your surgeons advice. Those numbers are there for a reason, and the reason is to protect your investement and you, and to give you optimal results.
There is a careful balance of daily exercise of the muscles by doing our normal routine, and "all out" exercise. Getting up and about walking around, and doing our daily routines is important after surgery for several reasons. It promotes breathing and expansion of your lungs to prevent pnuemonia, prevents blood clots, and helps to prevent swelling with some surgeries by promoting the re uptake of fluids.
Vigorous exercise too soon can be dangerous for several reasons. It can cause internal bleeding or a hematoma, and in some cases can require emergent evacuation in the operating room. I know a girl here in Chicago that was 8 days post op from a breast augmentation. She was at a cubs game and was clapping vigorously and developed a hematoma that required emergent surgery. So it is important to be compliant with what your surgeon recommends.
Dr. Bazell recommends light walking if you are ready one week after (breast augmentation and lipo that you were asking of- it is different for every surgery) and waiting three weeks for "all out" exercise.
Hope this helps..Congrats on your decision to have surgery, and keep us up to date on your consultations!
:)
