I had liposuction 3 months ago and ended up with a big dent in my leg near my hip. My doctor said it would get better as the swelling went down but it's been 3 months and it's not better. I did everything he said to do. He said he would do more liposuction and I would only have to pay for the operating room and anesthesia, but I dont know if I trust him anymore. Or if more liposuction will make it worse. Has anyone else had this same problem?

Contour irregularities are a common complaint after liposuction. Usually it's best to put fat back in to correct the dent, rather than trying to take more fat out.
This is done through fat transfer where the doctor will actually take some fat from one area and inject it into the dent. Depending on the size of the depression, this may need to be done several times.
Good luck!

REGARDING YOUR PROBLEM WITH BUMPS WITH LIPOSUCTION, MAY I SUGGEST YOU TRY FINDING A DR. WHO PERFORMS THE "TRUE TUMESCENT" PROCEDURE WHICH USES MICRO CANNULAS THUS ELIMINATING THIS PROBLEM WHICH OFTEN OCCURS WITH REGULAR LIPO. HOPE THIS HELPS! BE SURE TO USE THE WORD TRUE AS ALL DRS. WILL TELL YOU THEY DO TUMESCENT AS THEY KNOW THAT IS THE KEY WORD.

I had the same problem and it didn't get better. I have gained weight and the dent is still there. I went in for a fat transfer and still the dent did not go away. I went to another doctor who told me that he could do nothing to get rid of this dent.

My girlfriend had a similar problem. There is a procedure call subcision that a doctor can perform. If your dent is caused by fibrous connective tissue that is more pronounced due to the removal of fat in that area, it is performed by the doctor using 2 needles injected in the area and with a scissor like motion, breaking the fibrous tissues that are causing the dent. I am not sure how deep or severe your dent is, but she had it corrected with this procedure and it worked for her.
