I've had mesotherapy twice now & my experience seems similar to DeeAnn's. My doctor is a DO & he is partners with an MD. There is no gun used on me, only larger needles and syringes. I bleed afterwards, I am very sore for at least 3 days. I get welts at the injections sites, which go away after 3 days. I bruise, which subsides in about a week. I am very swollen! I also am not losing any weight, I seem to have gained a few lbs. after each session, returning to my regular weight in a week. He said I needed about 5 sessions total - $750 a session (stomach, back, butt, thighs, hamstrings all done in one session). I was not offered numbing cream either - and the treatments themselves hurt like hell.
I was given traumeel cream to use afterwards (well, told to purchase), which doesn't seem to help with swelling, but I think it does help with bruising. This time around I am taking tylenol for the soreness and it does help.
My butt does seem slightly less dimpled after the first treatment.
My doc also tried to sell me the obagi skin care system - but I didn't buy it. Some receptionist there is also bugging me to buy it. I did not go there for anything to do with my face - so I don't know why they are pushing that on me, except for more money - it's around $450 for the kit. I don't really want to spend more money, I'm already spending lots on this.
I'd like to hear from more people who have done meso. What are your experiences? Are docs suppose to use a gun? Is anyone NOT sore, swollen, or bruised?
I also had liposuction a few years back, I thought that was a cake walk compared to this & it was much cheaper.
