I have another question. I just read that you can inject perlane under the eyes for hollows. Is that an option? Thanks

Yes, Perlane can be injected under the eyes to correct or reduce hollowness. It is not currently FDA approved, but may be approved within the next few weeks. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed!)
Especially around the eyes, injections should only be done by an experienced practitioner. Too superficial and it may be visible. Too deep and you're risking damage to the eye.
When injected properly, Perlane should last 6 to 9 months around the eyes.

Thanks for your response!! That is exciting about perlane! How long do you think it will last under the eyes? Also you mentioned damage if the injections are too deep. Can't that happen with fat too? Thanks!

under the eyes, perlane will last 6 to 9 months, although it has been reported to last up to 12 months.
with any injections near the eye (whether it be perlane or fat, or something else), there is a risk of damage to the eye itself, although this is extremely rare.

Lacy - I think I posted my reply in the wrong place. So here goes again. I had Perlane under my eyes but although I had, who I think is the best PS in the business, it went lumpy and looked very unattractive. I think this was because my skin was so thin in that area. I would be open to trying other types of fillers in the future. Perlane takes about 6-9 mnths to disipate, so luckily my PS managed to lessen the lumpiness until the Perlane wore off:

Hi Megan,
Welcome to BeautySurg.com!
Sorry to read that you experienced lumpiness with Perlane.
It can be tricky to avoid lumpiness with Perlane under the eyes, even with a very experienced injector.
Perlane is thicker than it's sisters, Restylane and Restylane Fine Lines.
Since you're brave enough to try something else, you might want to consider Restylane, or perhaps your doctor can place the Perlane deeper to have better coverage.
Let me know how it turns out...
