Hello-First time here. Had lipo 10 days ago and am experiencing hardness in the upper and lower abdomen (pulling the belly button in). There is quite a protrusion above the belly button. My PS will do ultra sound on the area. From what I have read, ultrasound is more effective if done in the first 4 weeks post-op.How often should ultrasound be done to be most effective in attacking this problem early on??? It is difficult to stand up straight because of the "pulling sensation" Feels like I'm in a standing Crunch position.
..am I worring too soon?

hi linda,
what you're describing sounds very normal at this stage in the game, only 10 days out. ultrasound may help, but even if you do nothing it will go away.
try to do a little stretching at a time, but dont pull so much that it causes you real pain. a little uncomfortable is okay.
another 10 days or so and you'll be a new woman. your body has been through a lot of trauma. it just needs time to heal.
hang in there,
danya

Thank you, I am going to push for many ultrasound sessions, and do as much stretching the way you describe. I understand exactly what you mean!Great advise! I've read that wet heat (hydrocolator)the warm ,wet sand compress,is also very helpful.I love stretching, and will get back to back-bends...(months down the road I'm sure.)I had lipo sculpture on inner knees, back fat, love handles, lower and upper abs, inner thighs too.Sounds like alot! I'm 122lbs 5'5". At45,my body started slowing down. Now 47, My waist was almost 32" My hips are 35 1/2. I had the taylor remove all the waistbands from my pants!(could zip but not button) I love the difference already and have no problems anywhere but the hardness of abs. So good to have you out there.
I understand also that mesotherapy can help if there are any leftover spots or unevenness...Like fine tuning? Your thoughts?

My PS is doing a series of ultrasound treatments. It is the most effective, immediate treatment. The lumps are still protuding above the bellybutton, but the area has softened which is a good sign.He said to take off the garment at 14 days. I bought L'eggs Body Beautiful *Firm control* long leg CAPRI from K-mart. VERY FIRM support for lower abs.thighs and knees.CUT OFF THE WAIST band. That's an order!Wear them inside out so that the seam doesn't dig into your skin.I'm wearing a soft back brace with a velcro closure around the upper ab area, over a cotton T to keep the area warm. I am trying to stay positive at 16 days<and not examine the area. It changes throughout the day. After the 3rd treatment(Wed.)I said'So,what time on Friday?Take charge..Assume the next appiontment.Nudge him with humor if he tries to put you off. The gentle stretching I was advised to do on this sight has been great. Started a few days ago.Everyone I spoke to loves their TT.The veterins say it takes time4-6weeks shows improvment.I am still very sore and I only had lipo.Keep arnica with you at all times.Make sure the garment is not giving you blisters, or cutting you off at the waist.Any leftover lumps or bumps can be sucked out in1/2Hr in the future,If need be, and I will have the fat injected into my laugh lines.I love that!!I know this will pass with time.Thats the common concenses of all who post here. Believe. Hope you have some help at home. I live alone and made many adjustments for cleaning up after my pets. but I did it!.Tonight I went out to dinner(1sttime) and was able to sit for 2 hrs.Take baby steps and baby stretches. In 3 days you'll start to feel better.Everyone says at 4 weeks there is a big difference.Hey the SWAN Show gives those gals 3 months before they "Come OUT"!
Keep posting.Huggs to you.

My hardness is not necessarily lumps. My whole upper abs are really swollen. They are not retaining fluid. Everything is just kinda swollen and within time I guess it will go down. I've been to my doctors a few times over it and they said it will definitly go down. I'm 12 days post op now. It feels like I have a board in my belly from the top of my navel to under my breast. Kinda of strange but that is the best I can describe it.

I am also still hard on on flanks lower ab,crotch, and inner knees.AND SWOLLEN.He said " Hey, I beat you up pretty good" and you're gonna see a 6pack ,just wait, not to worry. He's the head of PS at Nrth Shore Hosp.A TT patient was there today, 6 weeks post-op Wow she looks great.in her mid 50's.Says she's still numb, little hard, and it's no big deal. How about her! Doc says move as muchas possible.Baby stretches, baby steps. No salt,Ultrasound breaks down the hardness.I'm massaging the areas with arnica gell GENTLY!
