View Full Version : Mesotherapy

I just had my first Mesotherapy session. The one thing I want people to know is that it is NOT virtually painless. Of course this is relative. It's not unbearable, however, not painless. The injections are just that... injections all over your lower body. You do feel it and you will feel it after. I have bruising and little needle marks all over. I know these will go away, so I'm not worried. I did alot of research on this and everything I read said it was painless. Had I known going in there is discomfort, I think I would have been more prepared. I know now for my remaining sessions what to expect. For anyone going to have it just know, that it is uncomfortable for about a full 24 hours. I was still able to do my daily activities, however, not 100% because of bruising and soreness. I am going to try the vitamins and arnica before my next treatment (as someone posted earlier). I am excited to finish all my treatments and will keep you posted.

My first session I did not use numbing cream and had a rough time getting through the whole thing. I also was not prepared and had bruises all over. I found taking arnica the day before and day of definitely help the bruising. Ever since that first session I *always* have numbing creme put on by the nurse/medical assistance one hour before the actual injections! I had to do this because I started sculpting various parts of my body all at once (face, neck, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, back/bra-line and included cellulite treatment for buttocks/thighs as well). Also, be aware that you can usually negotiate a better price the more areas you add. Plus it helps if you can refer people to the doctor you are going to, because they appreciate your referral and are willing to give you a price break there too! You may also want to negotiate a price ahead of time if you know you will want to go for at least 10 sessions. Most of the doctors are pretty flexible that way. Hope that helps and good luck!

I agree with your reply - it is not "virtually painless". I'm 5"1 and weigh 154 - somewhat muscular but have the usual trouble spots. The 1st and 2nd shot feels like mosquito bites but as the shots go on the medicine they are injecting starts to sting and burn a bit. I had my first treatment done yesterday on my upper abdomen area and although I don't bruise much at all, the ab area is very swollen.
He said I may see swelling and it might appear larger, but once the swelling goes down and after the next treatment I will be able to see results. I am actually wearing one of those liposuction gurdles, only because it makes it more comfortable and my ab area doesn't move as much, believe me it is sore afterwards, I can't imagine how I'm going to be able to sit down after I do the back of my thighs! But getting mesotherapy is much less painful than liposuction. Liposuction keeps you sore and swollen for a long time and you also leak blood and fluid after the surgery the first day. The results are great, but the downtime isn't compared to Meso.
I'll keep you updated on my results!

I've had my 4th treatment last week and it's the same. It does get a little better because you know what to expect. It only lasts a little more than 24 hours, the discomfort that is.
It's funny you mentioned the garment, because I've found the same thing. I use those capri slimming things you can buy in the stores. I'm assuming they are somewhat like a lipo garment. It seems much less uncomfortable when I wear that. Arnica gel helps alot for the bruising and tenderness.
Good luck to you and keep us updated!
