I had a hysterectomy in Jan 2004 and I have a saggy tummy roll as a result of the surgery. It is known in the hyster world as a "jelly belly". Are you familiar with a mini surgery to help remedy this ugly droopy thing? Its like a sausage roll and I really want to get rid of it but don't want to endure the cost or recovery of a full TT. Would love some advice from others.

What you're referring to sounds like what I call an "invaginated pubic scar". Sounds lovely, doesn't it?
What happens is that scar tissue forms around and beneath your hysterectomy scar causing the tissues to stick together and pull in. This prevents the skin and fat on your tummy from sliding around like it used to. And since it's stuck down at the scar, the tissues just end up hanging over the scar like a shelf.

So... there is a surgery to fix it, and it's not really a tummy tuck, although that can be done at the same time if you need it. The surgery is a scar revision and correction of adhesions. It will remove some scar tissue and free up the adhesions so that the tissues aren't tacked down to your abdominal wall.

Oftentimes, insurance will pay for it since it was a result of your hysterectomy. You'll need to submit letters and possibly pictures from your doctor to the insurance company for prior authorization. Check with your insurance carrier for details.

Hope that helps. Keep us posted.
