When I was a young child, about 4 or 5, I slipped and hit my forehead on the corner of a stair. It left a bit of a bump on one side of my forehead. I am 20 now and it bothers me very much. It is not very noticeable but I obsess about little things. I want to know what my options are for plastic surgery. I've thought about getting it shaved off but if I did then the other side of my forehead might appear bigger. Why? Because since I had the accident my skull has grown and so it sort of dips in slightly around the bump, making the illusion of something jutting out. When really, the bump only protrudes out about as much as the other side of my forehead. I hope you're with me so far. Anyway, if I got it shaved off, I would probably also need certain parts built up to make my forehead symmetrical. Is this possible? What are my options? How much am I looking at?

If it bothers you look into having it done. I would suggest finding you a cranio-maxillofacial surgeon. They are highly trained on bony abnormaility of the face. Do you have a picture of it?
Couple of webites of interest are:
www.plasticsurgery.org--american society of plastic surgeons
www.surgery.org--american society of aesthetic plastic surgeons
www.maxface.org--american society of maxillofacial surgeons
www.iscfs.org--internation society of craniofacial surgeons

Just go to the site and find the directory... I would mainly look at the last two...
