I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering if any one has read Dr Phil's new weight loss book. I saw on his show that he has a 7 step plan for weight loss. Has any read the book and or tried the plan? What did you think? I've tried every diet and am looking for something that really works.
I also saw Dr Parricone on a morning show (the Today show, maybe?) and he says that a salmon diet for a month with lots of water is good for the skin, but I dont think I could eat salmon for 28 days straight.

Dr. Phil's diet seems to be more of dealing with the issues that are causing overeating in the first place. I guess that's what you'd expect from a psychologist like Dr Phil, but I guess it makes sense.I know that my eating habits go along with my emotions!

Actually, it doesn't matter what I'm feeling, happy sad angry excited etc, I just love to eat!

Yes, in reviewing Dr Phil's plan, it does seem to be based on getting to the emotional reasons that are causing overeating (as you would expect from a psychiatrist, or maybe a psychologist? i'm not sure which he is...).
Some people just eat because they're bored or they don't exercise, causing weight gain, however many people gain weight for deep-seated emotional reasons. In my opinion, these people usually know who they are... but dealing with the problem can be painful, difficult, and uncomfortable. Dr Phil's book is available through Beautysurg.com at diet and nutrition books (http://www.beautysurg.com/shop/books_nutrition.html)
Dr. Perricone takes a medical approach (as you would expect from a medical doctor). It's all about good versus bad fats, supplementation, and the inflammatory response that some foods produce. He proposes a 3 step approach of diet, oral supplements, and skin supplements. His book is also available at http://www.beautysurg.com/shop/books_nutrition.html

i saw the book at Wal-Mart last time i was there, along with the pills that go along with it.

the pills kind of scare me. i can see how the book is supposed to help get to the core of emotional eating but when i was looking at the back of the bottle of pills, they are to supress your appetite which kind of shocked me. i didnt think Dr. Phil would be for pills like that but there are 2 kinds, those that fit into the "apple" category and those that fit into the "pear" category

i dont know....i guess we all can wait and see how it turns out :)

hi sassy,
i responded to another post by you, but thought i'd chime in here too. i can't believe dr phil is pushing pills! just doesn't seem right if his whole philosophy is "mind over matter".
what was he thinking???
