After seeing Dr. Bill Cook on television, I called
his office at Coronado Skin Medical Center, Inc.,
Coronado, California to schedule an appointment.

I flew hundreds of miles to his office for this
consultation at a cost of hundreds of dollars.
Dr. Cook did not have the decency to meet with
me.

"Nurse" Shavon Clement met me and introduced me
to Kim Cook, saying she's a doctor too.

I cannot believe that William R. Cook, MD would
lack so much decency as to charge a patient
$10,000 for his Weekend Alternate to the Facelift
and not have the decency to meet with the patient
when they arrive for a consultation.

Yes, I was severely burned and damaged.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Did you have the surgery even though you never met the doctor? Or did you get to schedule your surgery after meeting him?
Is your scarring permanent? I've heard alot of bad things about this doctor on different message boards. I'm just sorry you didn't know about them before you had your surgery!
I hope everything turns out okay for you.
Best wishes!
Elise

I too saw his ad, and called. Talked to a gal several times, e-mailed my pictures for an estimate of what to do... $16,000.00 for Weekend Facelift w/ chemical peel. I then started to do my research and found all kinds of horrible stories - and I believe they are all true-

It pays to do your research - and we are so lucky to have the internet and these forums to do it!

I feel I have a gardian angel looking over me, cuz I was so close to using him.

good for you for doing your research!'

you cant always believe everything you read on these message boards, but it does pay to ask around and then make your own decision.

did you ever end up having your facelift with another doctor?

I go for a consult with Dr. Marten in SF on 9/25/03. He is one of the best! Wish me luck!

Yes I agree with not believing everything you read, but it did help to actually talk with a gal who went to the Cooks - she told me her whole ordeal with being disfigured by them. I truly believe her and feel for her.

I had an upper bleph...they failed to inform me before the operation that they were removing all the fat above my eyes. I was pretty upset about that! It took a long time to adjust to the "New Look" but the healing was easy and I think they did a good job.

I had my consult with Dr. Marten and I am very impressed! He spent about 2 hrs with me answering every question I had and explained everything in great detail. He was very professional and patient.

I met a patient who had the works done by Dr. Marten and let me tell you she looked outstanding! He really has an artistic eye for detail.

My surgery date it Jan 12th 2004- I will keep you posted if you like.

BTW - This is a very nice site! I love it!

If you are thinking of visiting William R. Cook Jr.
of Coronado Skin Medical Center, Inc. of Coronado,
California for his Weekend Facelift, you might like
to know the following.

Dr. Cook has been named as a defendant eight times
in court cases in San Diego County, California.

Dr. Cook has been cited by the California Medical
Board for misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent
advertising. He was allowed to take an Ethics
Exam and, thus, the citation no longer appears
on his public record.

The Attorney General of the State of California
has filed an Accusation against Dr. Cook. You
will be able to verify this fact by going to the
California Medical Board website.

The Attorney General in this Accusation represents
the Division of Medical Qualify of the Medical
Board of California.

The Attorney General alleges that Cook was
grossly negligent, incompetent, and that he
committed repeated acts of negligence.

The Attorney General refers to Cook's Weekend
Facelift as inherently dangerous and experimental.

Never, never, never let a doctor open up your neck
and use a laser inside!

Both Dr. Kim Cook and Dr. Bill Cook are
Dermatologists. They are not board-certified
plastic surgeons.
