A year ago I had liposuction on three areas - stomach, back and inner thighs. It was a grueling, painful experience and I wouldn't trade any of it. The results were my going from a size 22/24 to a size 14/16. At home, the afternoon of my surgery, I was in pain, alone and needed someone to talk to. The only person I had was myself, so I started writing in a diary about my experiences. I wrote everything in my book entitled, "Dear Diary: What My Doctor Never Told Me About Liposuction." Pain. Chills. Swellling. Bruising. Fatigue. The guy I dumped. Even the fact that my family had no idea I had done that. I wrote it all down. I also included exercises that helped keep my body stretched on those days when it felt as if my skin were a rubber band that wanted to retract. There's even before and after photographs the doctor took. If you are considering liposuction, get my book and discover what you may actually go through after surgery. I remember one doctor in particular who had told me I could go back to work three days later with a minimal amount of pain. In reality, ten days later I "had" to get back to work because my leave was over. I could barely walk.
