Seventeen Percent Increase in Cosmetic Procedures for Men
Although cosmetic procedures continue to rise in the USA, it was men who accounted for the largest percentage increase over all. According to figures from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, of the 11.7 million procedures done, men accounted for 17 percent more than for 2006 compared to women who only had one percent more procedures over 2006. These figures include both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
The most popular surgical procedures for 2007 were liposuction, breast augmentation and eyelid surgery. Anti-wrinkle injection Botox was the most requested non-surgical cosmetic procedure. This was followed by hyaluronic acid, laser hair removal and microdermabrasion.
