New Reality Series Offering "Full Life Makeover"
To Air in Late Spring, 2004

Los Angeles (September 29, 2003) - In the Hans Christian Andersen tale, an ugly duckling awakens one day to discover that she has transformed into a beautiful swan. In the human world life is a bit more complicated and, thus, into the pond of television programming comes a new reality television series, "The Swan," from FremantleMedia, the producers of American Idol. "The Swan" goes beyond where other makeover shows end, offering twelve women the incredible opportunity to undergo a full-life makeover in order to bring their dreams to fruition, and then tracking their journey after. The Swan's team of Life Specialists - including plastic surgeons, hair stylists, makeup artists, style consultants, speech therapists, and other life coaches - work with the lucky dozen to transform each into the person they've always wanted to be.

"Everyone's lives take unexpected turns, but while some people manage to achieve their dreams, others get thrown off the path to fulfillment," explains executive producer Ted Haimes. "With The Swan, we take a holistic approach to offer twelve participants a 'dream makeover,' and then track them afterwards to see how they deal with their new lives. What's interesting is watching whether they can make their dreams come true after getting what they want."

Female contestants, age 22-38, will be chosen based on the compelling nature of their stories, and episodes will be shot in early 2004 to air in late spring. All twelve finalists will be tracked during four one-hour programs, leading to a two-hour finale in Los Angeles where they will present themselves and their achievements to a live audience. The best among them will be crowned The Swan.
