choosing a liposuction
surgeon
Since liposuction essentially
re-contours the body, it is as much an art as a science.
The final result of the operation depends not just on
the equipment and techniques used, but also on the aesthetic
sense of the doctor. When it comes to plastic surgery,
choosing your surgeon is one of the most critical steps
to obtaining a successful outcome.
Cosmetic surgery procedures
are performed by many different types of doctors, and
knowing which one to go to for your aesthetic enhancement
can be confusing. While there is no one specialty that

pertaining to the doctors' background and training that
can steer you in the right direction. Most commonly
liposuction is performed by a dermatologist, a cosmetic
surgeon, or a plastic surgeon. Read

the liposuction
surgical facility
From the office to
a hospital, there are many different places where your
surgery may take place, and each one has advantages
and disadvantages. With significant advances in the
last ten years to increase safety, recovery and healing
times, most cosmetic surgery now takes place on an outpatient
(ambulatory) basis. This means that you check in, have
your surgery, and go home all on the same day. Read

liposuction pricing,
fees, and costs
Liposuction costs vary
widely and the cost is dependent upon many factors,
including the type and number of areas suctioned and
the amount of fat removed. (Examples of "areas"
are hips, outer thighs, inner thighs, abdomen, flanks,
back, and neck). Typically, there is a fee for the first
area and the cost of each additional area will be reduced.
A single area can vary in cost from about $800 up to
several thousand dollars. You may also have to add costs
for the facility fee, blood and laboratory tests, and
costs for a compression garment and medications. Some
doctors may also prescribe additional post-operative
care such as ultrasound or massage, which may add to
your costs.
