If you have always wanted to have
high cheekbones, a more defined facial structure, and
more balanced facial proportions, then cheek augmentation
is for you.
Cheek augmentation can create the
look of high cheekbones and thin the appearance of the
face. It can compensate for loss of facial fat that
occurs over time that has caused a sunken or hollow
appearance. Sometimes, more prominent cheekbones can
even make your nose look smaller.
Although it won't remove jowls,
cheek augmentation can draw the eye upward, detracting
from fullness or jowling that may be present in the
lower face. In most cases, though, to correct jowls,
a facelift is required.
Cheek augmentation can be accomplished
using various techniques
and materials. These include the use of permanent
implants, permanent injectable materials, or temporary
injectable materials. The duration of your results of
malar augmentation will depend on what method your cosmetic
surgeon uses.
Cheek augmentation is sometimes
combined with other facial augmentation surgeries such
as chin implants, or with fat removal surgeries to accentuate
the contours such as is accomplished with facial
liposuction or cheek
fat removal.
